This Comedian Just Had One of the Worst Pre-Special Podcast Meltdowns

Jordan Jensen may soon find out that the Manosphere comedy scene only has room for one female comedian, and Roseanne Barr isn’t ever giving up her spot.

Today marks the release of the Jensen’s debut Netflix special, Take Me With You, but, in certain corners of the comedy sphere, the upstate New York native and podcasting staple’s first full-hour streaming special is an afterthought following her erratic behavior on the most recent episode of the Stavvy’s World podcast, which dropped yesterday morning. Barely two minutes into Jensen’s umpteenth appearance on the show, the Bein’ Ian with Jordan co-host, who made a point to mention that her next stop on the podcast press tour would be on The Joe Rogan Experience, overtly steered the conversation towards her hot takes on such Rogan-esque topics as the transgender identity, LGBTQ issues in general and how, in her opinion, “feminism is dead.”

Now, Jensen faces widespread backlash from comedy fans who found her provocative comments on nearly every conservative culture war topic to be tasteless, ignorant and, most of all, painfully unfunny. Thankfully, there was one killer bit that slightly redeemed the controversial Stavvy’s World episode: host Stavros Halkias should win a Peabody Award for coining the phrase “Austin Trans Brain.”

The rest of Jensen’s gender-focused rambling on Stavvy’s World outside of the few clips that went viral was just as bizarre as her strange theory on the proper use of anti-trans slurs, but her other sub-cogent points weren’t quite as consistent with official right-wing comedian party lines as her worst moments. For instance, at one point, during her critique of modern feminism and modern women, Jensen surprisingly sang the younger generation’s praises for having a more mature relationship with their gender identities than Millennials like her

“Gen Z? Crushing it!” Jensen erupted, saying that today’s teens and twenty-somethings are fixing America’s problems with gender politics “by being weird, freaky and non-binary.”

At the same time, however, Jensen argued that the perceived failure of the feminist movement is linked to what she feels is an improper handling of the political debate over the rights of transgender women. “I think, if you’re a feminist, you also have to have issues with trans stuff,” Jensen opined, “You have to, because, when a trans person goes, ‘Now I’m a woman,’ and they get giant fake tits, you have to go, ‘Hey!’”

Throughout the first half-hour of the episode, Halkias frantically attempted to make sense of Jensen’s turbulent train of thought while pushing back on her more uninformed ideas about transgender people and trying to curtail her regular use of slurs. Halkias even accused his friend of being a trans-exclusionary radical feminist at the height of her gender rant, saying, “This is really interesting, because you’re actually saying radical feminism (talking points) with Kill Tony vocabulary right now.”

Maybe Jensen really was just “practicing for Rogan” like Halkias claimed early in the episode, or maybe Jensen’s opinions on the most controversial and widely debated social issues in both stand-up comedy and America as a whole are truly too inconsistent and bizarre to fit into either side of the culture war. Hopefully, for Netflix’s sake, if Jensen addresses the far-right comedy world’s favorite punching bags in Take Me With You, she does it with clear intentions and more restraint when it comes to slurs, otherwise the streamer is going to have to shell out $20 million for her next special.
