Plus, respecting people’s boundaries is important, especially when dealing with teens who are seeking to carve out their own path of individuality. When your actual relationship with that teen is tenuous at best and newly forged from a fresh marriage, establishing a relationship organically before demanding things is always the best course. You can’t command something be a certain way and have it be so unless you’re royalty or a billionaire or something.
