MORE INFO FROM OP:

I was walking the dogs when I heard a loud, desperate kitten cry that immediately grabbed my attention. I followed the sound until I reached the canal, scanning the area. The cry was coming from farther down, and there was no direct path to get to it. I had to take another street, make my way through some bushes, and finally get close enough. I found him in those red marks.

I was expecting a bigger kitten, but when I saw it, it was just a tiny thing—maybe about 5 weeks old—struggling so hard not to be swept away by the water. I was crying the whole time, from the moment I saw him until I finished washing him off. He’d been fighting for his life for who knows how long. You’ll probably be crying too when you see the condition I found him in.”
