‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Fans Say That Elon Musk Is Turning Into Mac’s Mom

When you think about it, Elon Musk and Mrs. McDonald aren’t all that different – they’ve both worked with cars, they’re both divorced, and neither of them seemingly gives one single fuck whether their LGBTQ kid lives or dies.

Really, the parallels between the Paddy’s Pub Gang on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the people who now run the country are too many to count at this point. Under President Trump, it seems like every power player in public health, the military and even the private sector is making their society-shifting decisions while huffing gasoline, snorting nose clams and ranting about spiders and ghouls – though Musk’s preferred nose clam is allegedly of the ketamine variety, rather than crack/cocaine.

In Musk’s case, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans are saying that the Tesla CEO and former DOGE don is even starting to look like a certain surly, sub-conversational xenophobe from the Always Sunny universe:

Earlier this week, the original poster’s comparison between the 54-year-old tech mogul who recently attempted to train his robot to make him more fun at parties and the single worst mother on a sitcom that’s not exactly known for nurturing parents took off in the largest It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fan forum. In a thread titled, “Unlike Mac’s mom, Elon will never be funny. No matter how hard he tries,” fans from the Always Sunny subreddit marveled at the side-by-side while chiming in with their own apropos punchlines that Musk could never craft himself.

“trump was in his mouth and stephen miller was in his butt. They finished on each other. he was left out of the whole finale,” a Redditor snarked.

A different commenter added of Musk’s appearance, “Even his hairline wants to be as far away from him as possible.”

“If comedy is illegal then Elon is the most law abiding citizen,” another declared.

But while jabs and Always Sunny quotes at Musk’s expense dominated the viral thread, other, more empathetic It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans took issue with the tone of the discussion, with one fan pointing out that the post is basically just schoolyard bullying. “Not nice to make fun of the way people look…” the defender wrote, “…also, there is no realistic way to make that billionaire loser as attractive as Mac’s mom. Literally,  even with all the money in the world, he’s a sad joke of a man.”

“Comparing Elon’s uncanny reptile mask of a face to iconic star of stage and screen SANDY MARTIN’s is slander and blasphemy,” another compassionate user chimed in.

For the record, we agree with those last two points – while Musk may bear some striking personality and styling similarities to Mac’s Mom, in real life, Sandy Martin is a consummate professional and one of the most highly valued members of the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia family. Musk’s only value to his family is his net worth, and his kids aren’t going to see that until he has a botched neck lift – or until the next time he attempts to crash a Dave Chappelle stand-up show.
