After a medium-sized exodus, the new cast members of Saturday Night Live have been announced, and quite a few of them will be recognizable from your TikTok feed. Ben Marshall, Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson and Veronika Slowikowska have all been added to the show and several of them are best known for their viral social media content — maybe Slowikowska most of all.

As a basic bit of biographical information, Slowikoska is 29, and attended Randolph College for the Performing Arts in Toronto. She hails from Barrie, Canada, though she now lives in New York, which is obvious from the many sketches posted from her New York City apartment.

What Is Veronika Slowikowska Known For?

On Instagram, Slowikowska has one million followers at the handle @veronika_iscool, and nearly 700,000 followers on TikTok under the same handle. Her TikTok sketches often go viral and average over one million views per video.

Most of her sketches are done in a “manic pixie dream girl took a wrong turn” style. It’s a lot of absurdist humor, and it gets plenty of engagement. A fair chunk of the comments on her videos are “I LOVE whatever is wrong with you.”

Is Veronika Slowikowska Only on TikTok?

While Slowikowska is best known for her Instagram and TikTok sketches, she’s also been in several TV shows and movies. She played “Kelly” for six episodes on Shane Gillis’ Netflix show Tires, and Shanice on five episodes of What We Do in the Shadows. She’s also the co-host of the nevermind podcast along with frequent sketch partner Kyle Chase.

What Did Veronika Slowikowska Say About Being Cast on ‘SNL’?

In a post to her Instagram, Slowikowska wrote, “Dream come true. See you Saturdays.” In a Story, she added, “love you and thank you.”

Slowikowska was first suspected of potentially being added to the Season 51 cast when she was interviewed on the comedy podcast Take Your Shoes Off last week. When asked about her career dreams of being on SNL, Slowikowska responded, “I don’t know if I’m allowed to say,” before adding, “Cut it, cut it, cut it! Don’t say anything!”

At the time, it wasn’t clear if this was more of her tongue-in-cheek humor or if it really was a hint about her casting on the show. It’s definitely become evident now that it wasn’t just a sly joke.
