Gabriel’s been tormented by Madden Ultimate Team long enough for us to have a chorus of strips about it, and we have penned a new entry in the canon.
I’m more of an Eagles fan than a Football fan, but when I watch it it’s just a wargame. We’ve had various revelations about the fact that sports are games over our long reign, but I would be a much bigger football fan if it was on a table.
I was in an antique store in Newport, WA, which is a kind of WA. I remember this kind of store having dressers and teapots and shit, but if you go into them now they have some teapots but they also have tons and tons of videogames and DVDs. The young people in my life are weirdly interested in Media Ownership, so they love this kind of shit. You could get five DVDs for five dollars, which might be within striking distance of your allowance. Ronia took them up on it.
They had an old copy of the NASCAR Race Day CSG, or Constructible Strategy Game, which… maybe you don’t know what that is. Imagine opening a booster pack, but inside the pack are thin plastic cards with little game models you could punch out and build. They also included tiny dice which were small enough to reasonably call adorable. I don’t give a shit about NASCAR. And I’d never even heard of the game. But I fuck with it.
