20 On-screen Drunks People Love to Wish to Seek Help

It’s an inconvenient truth of pop culture that unproblematic, responsible and upstanding people aren’t very fun to watch. As a result, most of the people on TV and in movies aren’t the best role models. As much as we might enjoy living vicariously through James Bond or Barney Stinson or Dexter Morgan, their vices would get them alienated from their loved ones at best and incarcerated at worst.

But that doesn’t mean every on-screen degenerate is a terrible person — you know, at least the non-serial killing/sex trafficking ones. Some of them are lovable oafs who simply have a problem. Sure, you might want them to get help, but you have to admit their intoxicated antics aren’t not entertaining.

That’s why user DrTabogganMD asked r/AskReddit, “Who was the best drunk/alcoholic character in a TV show/movie?”
